CD-ROM/Mini-ROM/DVD Manufacturing Profile

CMC offers standard 120mm diameter CD-ROM, CD-Audio, VCD, CD+G and other CD formats as well as DVD-5, 9 & 10 and 80mm diameter Mini-S-ROM replication, shaped CD’s and Business Card (57mmx86mm, rectangular) CD replication. CMC currently operates replication facilities in Asia: 1 replication facility in Taiwan, 2 in Hong Kong, and replication facilities in UK and Mexico: 1 in England and 1 in Mexico. All locations are ISO 9002 certified by Lloyds Register.

CMC is a leading manufacturer of Optical Media. Since 1997 CMC has been a successful producer of DVD 5, DVD-9 and DVD-10 for some of the major names in the film industry. In addition, CMC is one of the largest manufacturers of CD-R (recordables) and CD-RW, including significant OEM production. To meet requests from existing customers, CMC Magnetics initiated CD-ROM replication in May, 1998. Substantial expansion of production capacities has taken place since then, and by May 2000 monthly capacity exceeded 30 million CD-ROM with another 3 million capacity for the 80 millimeter mini S-ROM, and a further 1mm capacity for all DVD formats, including DVD5, 9, 10, 17 and 18. Further expansion calls for 8 additional replication lines to be installed in CMC’s U.K. subsidiary, Europa Magnetics by 3Q 2000. Additional manufacturing locations are being considered. In-house Mastering is installed in Taiwan and Hong Kong, and effective July, 2000 in England and in August, 2000 in Mexico

State of the art molding and replication equipment, in house mastering, first class printing equipment and an attentive customer service staff make CMC CD-ROM’s a very competitive alternative. Turn times are very fast due to large installed capacity and a highly experienced shipping department that uses CMC’s close ties to air cargo carriers. Further utilization of T1 line, express couriers, fax and e-mail allow CMC to provide its customers with some of the quickest response and turn times available in today’s market.
